My personal position upon " The Chimney Sweeper”
William Blake's " The Chimney Sweeper, ” written in 1789, tells the storyline of what happened to many youthful boys during this period period in the uk. Too often, boys as youthful as five years old were being sold for the soul reason for cleaning chimneys because of their tiny size. Blake does an amazing job at effecting me personally with this poem because you can really feel the pain of the poor boy Tom in the poem. Though I had never heard about Chimney Sweepers before, Blake made me feel strongly about the situation by writing in first person and applying common dialect.
One way Blake makes this situation easy to relate to is the writing style he uses. I think he do this purposely because the children he was writing about were and so young and this individual wanted young children to be able to take from this composition just as much since an adult could. My life, along with many various other children's lives who have been touched by this poem were not while tragic as the males he published about, but each of them are always strongly impacted by the obvious message he gives the visitor. Each kid, including me personally, will check out this poem and think, " Things could easily get tough, nevertheless there is always a bright side. ” He displays us this kind of when he says, " Sound, Tom! Let alone it, pertaining to when your head's bare Solutions the soot cannot ruin your white hair, ” (Blake 8).
Blake's producing also provides for the reader to have very thorough visual photographs by publishing in first-person. Also, by utilizing first person, it created a further sense of sympathy I had formed for Ben in the poem. It helped me care extra about him that he was an actual person. That made me know not just conditions of that which was going on, nevertheless how damage and deprived Tom and many other children sensed. The discomfort I feel in this boy is really strong when ever Blake creates, " Which means your chimneys We sweep, and soot I...
